As we expanded not only within Japan but also internationally, we came to realise that what matters most—both at home and abroad—is to express and allow people to truly experience the essential qualities inherent in lacquerware: the warmth of wood, the richness of urushi lacquer, and the beauty of decorative craftsmanship.
By combining the refined skills of lacquerware artisans cultivated over many years—such as wood shaping, lacquer coating, and decorative techniques—with the power of contemporary design, we aim to express these qualities in a simple and honest way. Through our products, we seek to bring a quiet sense of happiness—comfort, calm, warmth, and gentle richness—into everyday life.
“isuke” is the Romanised form of our name, Isuke. At the same time, each letter carries a particular intention and philosophy.
